PRIOR PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Will Fixel is an associate at Fixel, Maguire & Willis’s Tallahassee, Florida office. His practice concentrates on the representation of private property owners in eminent domain cases throughout Florida. Prior to joining Fixel, Maguire & Willis in the spring of 2010, Mr. Fixel spent five years as an associate with King & Spalding, LLP in Atlanta, Georgia. While at King & Spalding, Mr. Fixel’s practice focused on mass tort litigation throughout the country.
Mr. Fixel’s recent eminent domain legal experience includes:

•	Obtaining a favorable settlement on behalf of a mini-storage business that was subject to an eminent domain taking because of Osceola County’s widening of Hoagland Boulevard;
•	Obtaining a favorable settlement for the owner of a vacant piece of property in Lake County who was subject to an eminent domain taking because of Lake County’s widening of County Road 441;
•	Obtaining favorable settlements for numerous property owners near Gaines Street in Tallahassee who were subject to Blueprint 2000’s taking of their entire property for the Coal Chute Project;
•	Obtaining a favorable settlement for real estate compensation and business damages on behalf of a retail business in Bay County that was subject to a partial taking of property by the City of Panama City Beach;
•	Obtaining favorable settlements on behalf of numerous home owners in Washington County who were subject to eminent domain takings by the Florida Department of Transportation;
•	Representing and settling inverse condemnation cases in Washington and Calhoun counties;
•	Obtaining a favorable settlement on behalf of numerous Tallahassee property owners who were subject to Leon County’s forced acquisition of property for the Buck Lake Road project;
•	Successfully settling a case on behalf of a Calhoun County homeowner subject to Florida Gas Transmission Company’s forced taking of pipeline-related easements; and
•	Assisting property owners with the appeal of an eminent domain full compensation issue brought by the Orlando-Orange County Expressway Authority.

Mr. Fixel’s general legal experience includes:

•	Representing an international oil and gas company’s interests in petroleum marketing sites in litigation throughout the country.
•	Serving as part of a counsel team on behalf of two law firms in a significant Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act case
•	Serving as part of a trial counsel team in representing a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer in product liability litigation involving its antidepressant.
•	Serving as a member of an appellate team that overturned a $27 million verdict and obtained judgment for an international oil and gas company in a dram shop action.
•	Conducting an audit of potential product liability issues for a global healthcare company.
•	Representing an automobile manufacturer in a discovery abuse action stemming from product liability litigation.
•	Serving as part of a trial team in representing a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer in a Medicaid fraud action.
